My Story, cont'd

In previous incarnations I was a choreographer, clothing designer, and performance poet. Many years ago, I choreographed dance for the original play N’daki Menan (Our Land), co-written by the teens from the Temagami First Nation; in year two of the production, we took the show across Canada. In 2010, my poetry performance troupe, The Olive Branch, entertained people on the streets of Vancouver and in schools and facilities around the Lower Mainland.

While living on a small island in the coastal waters of British Columbia, I started a dance company and choreographed productions; owned and operated a clothing company; worked as a newspaper reporter for the Bowen Island Undercurrent; and raised my three children. I also wrote for other periodicals and magazines, and co-edited Bowen Island Reflections, an historical coffee-table book published in 2004.

Now living in Victoria, I am a grandmother of seven and employed part-time while continuing to write.

I'd love to hear from you.
